Pledge Weekend, in support of the 2010 Bishop’s Annual Appeal, will take place in two weeks. The goal for our parish last year was $ 7,000 and we had donation totaled $9,315. Thank you for all of your support! We can assure the continued existence of programs that reach more than 1,000,000 Catholics in our Diocese each year with your help. This announcement is from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Congress continues to debate health care reform. Last weekend a special flier/bulletin insert from the U.S. Bishops’ Conference asking you to please contact your congressional representatives immediately asking them to oppose abortion funding and improve conscience protection, affordability for the poor and vulnerable, and access to health care for immigrants. The flier/bulletin insert included a web address that allows you to send an email message to Congress with a click of a button. The flier is posted on the church bulletin. The bishops have asked for our swift action and our prayers. Thank you for your help. We can help make sure that health care reform will protect the lives, dignity, conscience and health of all. Health care reform should be about saving lives, not destroying them.

Today: The Scrip Fundraiser will resume this Sunday and the first order of the year will be processed on Jan 17. From here on, orders will be processed once a month on the third Sunday of the month. Check with Gregg in the lobby after mass.

Fri 1/15: The youth will participate in a Lock-In for Life at St. Ann's in Coppell. We will leave from Church at 6pm and return after the pro-life mass and rally the following morning. We strongly encourage all youth to attend this very important event.

Sat, 1/16 The 37th anniversary of Roe Memorial Events will be held on Jan. 16, Saturday. There will be Rosary, Mass, Rally & March for Life. Please join Dallas Bishop Kevin Farrell, Fort Worth Bishop Kevin Vann, diocesan clergy and thousands of people of faith to pray for an end to the scourge of abortion on our country. The detail of the events and schedule has been posted on the bulletin board.

The Chinese New Year Celebration will be held on Saturday, February 13th this year. If you or your group would like to share your talents at the evening program, please start preparing and contact James Wang as early as possible.

We are also beginning to collect prizes for the raffle of the evening program. Donated prizes must be worth $ 20.00 and above. Cash of $20 and above is also welcome. We hope some generous parishioner can donate a “grand prize”, such as air ticket, notebook computer, or television. The donation of prizes is tax deductible. Interested parties please contact Sandy Chen. The contact information is available in the lobby. We need your support! I urge everyone to contribute generously in order to make the program a success.
